Toya Beasley, on-air personality at Philly's Favor 100.7FM in Philadelphia and SistaFriendz Founder & CEO, is the visionary and executive producer of this annual event. The Stellar Women of Gospel Awards is an official event of the Stellar Awards weekend.




The 2018 Stellar Women of Gospel Awards
Our 3rd Annual Stellar Women of Gospel Awards event took place on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 9:00am in the beautiful Grand Ballroom of The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were thrilled to honor Thomasina “Goo Goo” Atkins, actress, celebrity stylist and fashion expert; Sheilah Belle, radio personality, news producer, and Editor-in-Chief of The Belle Report; Melanie Few, Executive Producer and Founder of the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration; Cheryl Jackson, Evangelist and Stellar Award-winning radio veteran; Gina Miller, Vice President and General Manager of Entertainment One; Kymberlee Norsworthy, veteran PR strategist and Founder of Worth Ink Public Relations & Media Strategies; and Tamika Stembridge, entertainment attorney, strategic consultant and Executive Director of the dfree® Global Foundation. Read our news release on the event and Honorees.

The event was executive produced by Toya Beasley, radio personality, speaker and event creator; hosted by the Rev. Dr. DeForest B. Soaries Jr., Sr. Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey, and Founder of the dfree® Financial Freedom Movement; and presented by Prudential. Special guest performers included BET Sunday Best winner Joshua Rogers; one of Gospel music’s most celebrated singers, Bishop Jason Nelson; inspirational sensation Bryan Popin; and the Unveiled Affect Ministry Dancers.

History
Toya Beasley had a moment of inspiration as she sat in the audience during the 2012 Stellar Awards. There are so many incredible women in the Gospel music industry who help make all this possible, she thought, and very few people know about them. At that moment, Toya decided to create an event to honor and celebrate these “behind-the-scenes” female powerhouses – and she declared that it would happen during the very next Stellar Awards weekend.

Fast forward to 2013, and the attendees of the 28th Annual Stellar Awards weekend in Nashville noticed a new event on the agenda… the 1st Annual Stellar Women of Gospel Awards!

We honored seven women during an elegant affair at the Gaylord Springs Clubhouse & Pavilion: Catherine Brewton, BMI Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations; Dianna Hobbs, President and CEO of EEW Magazine; Jojo Pada, Founder and President, IGNITION PR; Melanie Pratt, Radio Personality & Founder and CEO, gospelflava.com; Demetrus Stewart, Consultant to PureSprings Gospel; Treiva Williams, CEO, Right Hand Elite, Inc. & Executive Administrator, A Song for Mary Mary, Inc.; and Erma Davis, COO of Central City Productions.
